To Hear Two Apostles' Voices…

What a great weekend for Natalie, Olivia, and I. We had a great chance to spend lots of time together and hear from two of the Lord’s anointed. It made me appreciate the opportunity to hear two Apostles' voices directing me and my family in matters of love and righteousness. Friday evening was a great chance for my wife and I to snuggle up and watch Law and Order. The thing that I love the most about my wonderful wife is that no matter what I am doing with her, I feel at peace and the most comfortable I can possibly feel. She disarms me with her great smile, and always helps me to unwind and feel at home. Saturday brought lots of college football and shopping.
I went to the BYU game with my mom and dad. We beat Tulsa 49-24. My beloved Seminoles almost lost to Troy, but fortunately they pulled off the win. On Sunday, we went to my old stake center to attend the countywide stake conference in which we heard from two of the Apostles and a Seventy. We first heard from Elder Samuelson, President of Brigham Young University and member of the Seventy. Next, we heard from Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He spoke on the need for us to continue on in faithfulness despite the hardships and challenges we have been given at this time. He spoke of how many, many individuals are suffering with mental anguish or physical pain, but they need to do so with a determination to love and serve God. Lastly, we heard from President Thomas S. Monson, First Counselor in the First Presidency, who admonished us to build a house of faith, of learning, of glory, of prayer, and of God. It was a great and spiritual experience for our family to share. We had my mom and dad there with us. Later in the day, we have them over to dinner along with Reed and Riley. We were able to gather together and discuss some family needs and enjoy my wife’s wonderful cooking. I gave my mother a blessing with the assistance of my dad and my brother. Once the family was all gone, I was able to snuggle my wife and get to bed early.
