The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. ~Thomas Jefferson
Jar Full of Priorities...
Yesterday I did not have to work because I have started working 4-10’s at Wasatch Mental Health with my shift starting at 6:30 a.m. I spent the day with Olivia, and we have a lot of fun. I am addicted to spending time with Livvy and Natalie as often as possible. I think that an analogy I heard about managing our time nails how I feel about spending more time with my wife and daughter. If you have a Mason jar and two handfuls of rocks just small enough to fit through the lid; furthermore, a pile of sand that fills the Mason jar until it is about an inch away from being full. The objective is to fill the jar with both. If you put the sand in first, the rocks will never fit, but if you reverse it and place the rocks in first, it is possible because the sand with fill in the empty spaces around the rocks. The jar represents our life and the limited time each day. The rocks represent our most essential things in our live. They could include spending time with our family, doing scripture study, holding organized family prayers, exercise, and serving all those people that the Lord put in our life. The sand represents the important things in life. Examples could be: work, hobbies, sports, naps, helping friends, our likes and interests, and reading books or watching television. I think that when I put the most essential and meaningful things in my life first, all the others will fill in around the essential. Natalie has been sick and suffering. This worries me a lot. I hope that she can turn the corner and start to fill better soon. She is the best friend and wife that any person could wish for. Olivia is doing better. She had a ton of energy yesterday. I took her shopping at Walmart, and we goofed off the entire time.
